Description

The plan for our finished basement included a room that we call the storage room. In order to make the floor plan work for the hallway at the bottom of the stairs and the closets that we wanted in the storage room, there ended up being a small cubby area in one corner of the room. I decided to fill this space with a built-in cabinet.

Since the cabinet is painted, I used a cheaper grade of plywood. It is made from 3/4″ Sande Plywood from Home Depot. The top is made from edge jointed select pine boards. The top is finished with a combination of amber and super blonde shellac.

At some point, I am going to add shelves with a small cabinet on top to finish filling the space.
