Description

I made this wooden cross for my son’s dorm room. He is our oldest child and is leaving home to start college. My wife asked if I could make a wooden cross for him. I found some scrap pieces leftover from a shelf that I made for his bedroom a few years earlier (that project is shown below). The dark outer wood is walnut. The lighter wood is maple. Most of the work to create the joint was done with a hand saw and chisels. I finished the piece with two coats of super blonde shellac and a light coat of Minwax Paste Finishing Wax.
