Description

One of the first things that I knew I would need in my shop was a miter saw station. I spent some time looking at a lot of different ones in books and online. Once I had a good idea in mind of how I wanted mine to be designed and the overall dimensions and location within my shop, I used SketchUp to create the design. From the design, I created a cut list. I purchased the plywood and got to work.

The cases, drawer fronts, and tops are made with 3/4″ PureBond Maple Plywood from Home Depot. The drawer internals are made from 1/2″ PureBond Maple Plywood. The trim and drawer pulls are made from 1″ x 3″ red oak also from Home Depot. I used 24″ Full Extension Side-Mount Drawer Slides. The trim and drawer pulls were stained with Minwax Espresso Penetrating Stain. The rest was stained with Minwax Puritan Pine. All parts were finished with super blonde shellac.

In case you are interested, my miter saw is a Dewalt DW-718, however, I don’t believe that this particular model is still available.
