Lovingkindness in Walnut with Epoxy Inlay

This unique piece of home decor captures the richness of the meaning of the Hebrew word “Hesed” (חֶסֶד). This word is often translated as lovingkindness in modern English translations of the Bible. It appears approximately 250 times in the Old Testament and is often used to refer to God’s steadfast love for His people.

Made from walnut that was harvested from our property in the North Georgia mountains, the wood has rich and varied tones as well as character from cracks, checks, knots, and wormholes. Those bits are character are all carefully filled with clear epoxy. The CNC-carved lettering is filled with epoxy resin tinted blue, red, and even a little purple.
